Holborough Lakes is a multi award winning development by Berkeley Homes, designed and built around the tranquil waters and gentle contours of a beautiful corner of rural Kent.
The development consists of a collection of 3 and 4 bedroom family houses as well as 1 and 2 bedroom apartments built in the classic New England style of pastel shaded weatherboarding. Set among a landscape graced by freshwater lakes, waterside paths and mature trees, and framed on all sides by the rolling North Downs, Holborough Lakes provides the perfect place for an abundance of outside activities including kayaking, fishing and cycling.
Despite the rural aesthetic and traditional materials, homes at Holborough Lakes incorporate Super E® technology, the latest thinking in environmentally sound construction. By employing superior insulation and ventilation, Super E® strives to create a more healthy living environment whilst increasing the energy efficiency of your new home, making the houses and apartments at Holborough Lakes an idyllic community for the future.
For the showhouses, the design team at Shirley Browne Interiors took inspiration from the “New England” style of the development and created two colour schemes reminiscent of America – with a twist ; one is a mix of Nantucket beach colours of oranges and browns with a classic navy blue (Plot 114) designed by Design Manager Ed O’Donnell . The other scheme (Plot 111), designed by Project Manager Lee Burd, is a preppy mix of greens, khaki, crisp white and classic black.
Both properties had to appeal to wide range of purchasers – first time buyers, professional couples, young & mature families. To families trading up, wanting more space for a growing family, and couples maybe trading down, but still requiring space to live and entertain.
Plot 114 The Delaware
The general colour scheme in here is a neutral base with a mix of chocolate browns, soft greys, burnt orange and navy blue. The furniture is a mix of mirror, walnut, leather, glass and chrome. This is a warm sophisticated, contemporary scheme with strong accent colours. The wood finishes are in walnut and wenge.
There are two key areas for both family living, and for entertaining, in the ground floor Family Room and first floor lounge.
Plot 111 The Boston
The general colour scheme in this house is again a neutral base, with the accents in green, khaki, crisp white and classic black. Calming, comfortable but still modern and contemporary. Neutral earthy tones with a bright accent colour of lime (with the approach of spring) but with chocolate browns, to keep it warm.
This is reflected in the furniture by using warm walnut wood, along side black/clear glass.
